Emergency Room Follow-Up

To help patients who have used emergency rooms frequently for non-emergency care, Cigna Medical Group increased patient education about available care, opened urgent care centers to handle complex needs, and created a new 24-hour nurse line to quickly link seniors with needed services. EmblemHealth uses a multidisciplinary team of professionals to follow up with frequent ER patients and ensure that they receive timely care.
