America's Health Insurance Plans

  Healthcare Compliance ProfessionalTM

AHIP has created the new Healthcare Compliance Professional (HCPTM) designation specifically for individuals who work to meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and ensure that their companies meet the parameters of all of the new rules, deadlines, and regulations. From market conduct reviews, MLR, and audits to setting up a compliance program, the educational activities leading up to earning the HCP designation will help you manage your job functions on a daily basis and plan for long-term ACA implementation. We invite anyone whose job is impacted by the ACA or who is responsible for any aspect of compliance to participate in this program.

Designation Completion

To earn the HCP designation, you must acquire 18 credits by participating in qualified AHIP conferences, workshops, and webinars; 12 of the 18 credits must be obtained by attending conferences or workshops in person. How the remaining 6 credits are earned is up to you. Choose the best combination that fits your schedule. Events will be noted as HCP -eligible in the AHIP online event calendar.

To begin acquiring credits toward earning the HCP designation, register for one of the upcoming events by clicking on the event name below, going to our online event calendar, or by visiting the AHIP Store. After your first applicable registration, we will set up an account for you and keep track of your accumulating credits.

Applicable credit(s) offered by each event are awarded per individual registrations. Recorded webinars may be available for purchase following the initial webinar airing date. By purchasing and viewing a recorded webinar, you or one other registrant may earn half of the number of credits that were offered during the original online event.

Renewal Requirements

The HCP designation must be renewed every two years. Nine credits are required for renewal.
